Going forward
(stream of conscience wrting follows, you have been warned)
Thats my new motto, why? well, you can figure that out. We have had goregous weather this week and I got in 4 days of riding which always improves my mood. I also did my good deed for the month by donating blood, but they sent me the blue slip back saying my cholesterol is through the roof. My doc seemed skeptical of their methodology, so I get to fast sunday and have another test monday morning. A new diet would be good for meso I picked up a bunch of produce yesterday.. now comes the hard part, eating it and avoiding the doritos. My understanding of the chessboard continues to grow, keeping the game exciting, old books make more sense... the ultimate test will be this weekend's tournament with a lovely time control of 30/60, SD/60. Even Karpov shouldn't be able to lose on that time control. Brenna is exceedingly cute, she must get it from her father (lol). Finally, I will have a new cell number here shortly, and my old number will be decomisioned Feb 6. Another bonus is that I have finally been able to win some backgammon games against Megs! She plays backgammon like I play chess... er maybe not, just more than me. Drewski, after playing tons of Pirates of the Caribean over break, one wonders how we play entire games of Cities and Knights that is just a long game. I am officially a worse ping-pong player than both my brothers and it eats me up inside. However seeing the family over break was excellent, the Village Wok has decent duck and I could deal with not working. Man has to Work!. Anyhoo the ol fandamily is getting together at a hotel in Owatana with a waterpark to celebrate birthdays here shortly, short of Wild Mt. what could be better?
Random thought of the days, it has been hypothosized that commiting ones life to a game (i.e. chess) has skewed the minds of many GM's, most notably Bobby Fischer and Paul Morphy (both Americans).
